The Truth about ‘searchable’ Real Estate Websites

So here’s the deal.

Sites like Trulia and Redfin are selling you real estate agents, not properties. That’s correct. Many of the homes you’re seeing on these types of sites do not update their information in real time so your search results are presenting you with homes that are either already under contract OR already sold. And by the way… agents pay thousands of dollars to have their photo appear on the site leaving you to believe that they are the one who has the listing or can get you access to the properties on that site.

The ONLY way to see what real estate agents are seeing is to gain access to the MLS. There are a few sites like this out there. I like www.FreeMLSsearch.com  as it gives you the tools to search the MLS and you won’t be hounded by a bunch of real estate agents.

Happy house hounting and let us know if you have any questions about the real estate process.
